We have just got back from filming in Doncaster for a few days, we have been filming for a promo for a children’s centre in the area, more on this as the project develops.
While we were away we needed to find somewhere to stay for a couple of nights as Doncaster is a bit far from Leicester for us to commute each day. We thought that we might try our hand at saving some money on hotel costs and asked a friend in the area to recommend us a cheap (but good) hotel.
This is not what we experienced. We’re not going to point any fingers but it was a bit like staying in a hamster cage. The rooms were clean, but tiny, but what did we expect for £30 a night per room. After the first night we woke up horrified to find that cars out side the hotel had been broken into. Fortunately we had taken all our gear into the rooms with us and we are of course insured but never the less losing our kit would have been more than a little irritating. We were lucky, our car wasn’t one of the ones with a broken window, probably because we didn’t leave anything on show. Some others weren’t so fortunate, as you can see by the photo with this post.
Lesson learned, you get what you pay for and hotels are like everything else, not to be scrimped on.

Major apology for not posting so long, we haven’t had a moment to spare for months, we have been really busy photographing portraits, making presentation videos and moving our website to many different servers. Our blog is now powered by Wordpress and hosted on our own server, this has been a big learning curve for us and has taken up every moment of time when we aren’t working on our clients projects. We have also added the ability to send newsletters from our site, if you fancy one you can sign up here. We want to keep our newsletters nice and fun with something useful, not only are we going to be giving away some really cool desktops to spice up your computer but we are going to get together a set of resources to help people learn about the most effective ways to use digital media to enhance their business.
During the site update we have added a new string to our digital bow in the form of a new photography section. We have been working hard on a series of commercial portraiture jobs lately. The photo you see to the right is an image of a young up and coming entrepreneur called Luke. He is the managing director of a company called YQ Vending. We expect to see big things coming from him soon.
We would like to say a big thank to Doxmart who have been a really big help to us in during this time. They have helped us with all kinds of problems with the gremlins that live in the internet and break things when you’re not looking, from giving us tips on the best way to do things to making helping us make our mailing list and blog work. Thanks guys.

Things have been busy at the Media Renegades Studio. We have been working hard to finish off the web site, we even built a client login zone so that we can give our clients somewhere private to check out the work we have been doing for them.
We want to draw your attention to one of our latest videos. It’s a short show case of Keelan Phillips of Inertia Shows. A BMX flatland entertainment company which specialse in creating a BMX show for all types of promotional event.
Now that the Christmas rush is well out of the way and the new year has got underway properly we should have some more regular updates.
